Bogus WP8 Mobile Application Leaked Personal Info of Customers

Telecom company from Netherlands, Telfort was surprised to find out that the phone numbers and passwords of its customers were leaked online. Telfort shut down its website but still they were unable to find the source. And after detailed research it was found that their own network had nothing to do with this leak rather it was some other source.

Bogus WP8 Mobile Application:

Finally, after detailed investigation it was found that some bogus WP8 mobile application was behind this leak. Actually, this application used the logo of Telfort and asked users for their account details. Since, it had the official logo of the company therefore it appeared legitimate to users hence they entered their details without hesitating.

Let this be a lesson for all of us. Internet is never safe no matter which mobile device you are using. It is important that you must not share too much information on the Internet. Make sure to check whether the application you are using is official or it is some bogus WP8 mobile application.

Now Telfort is planning to take a legal action against the developer of this bogus WP8 mobile application.
